Universidad de Chile coach Jorge Sampaoli says he is not daunted by Thursday s first leg of the Copa Sudamericana final away to LDU Quito.
Sampaoli s Universidad side are yet to lose so far in the competition, but must travel to the Ecuadorian capital for the first leg of the final.
They will be up against a team who have proved almost unbeatable at home in the past four years.
LDU s impressive form in front of their own fans has helped them lift four continental titles in the past four years, beginning with the Copa Libertadores in 2008.
Speaking before the opening match, Sampaoli was adamant that he would not be intimidated by the away leg, and would treat it like any other game.
It suits us to win, he said.
The best way to do this is to keep doing what we have done all season.
The way we approach the game, controlling the tempo and attacking brings us closer to winning.
I hope that this group (the squad) stays defiant to keep breaking these traditions.
Universidad have never played a continental final before, having missed out in four previous semi-final appearances.
But they have already beaten some strong teams in 2011, including Vasco da Gama and Flamengo, to reach the decider, and Sampaoli backed his players to add another scalp to that list.
The team is strong, relaxed and ready, just like in Uruguay (against Nacional) and Brazil (versus Flamengo and Vasco), he said.
But LDU are a tough rival, who run the game well and we have to stop them getting the ball too much.
