Gvardiol, Arteta, Mount, and more: The Daily Transfer Round Up – Sunday, June 25

Manchester City agree personal terms with Josko Gvardiol

Manchester City have reportedly found common ground with the representatives of Josko Gvardiol over the personal terms for the Croatian defender.

Gvardiol is ready to make the move, but RB Leipzig, who still own his contract for another four years, still need some persuading to agree to sell under reasonable terms. For the time being, they re determined to make the 21-year-old the most expensive defender ever should he leave the Red Bull Arena this summer, and it remains to be seen if City can do something to make them relax their demands.

Barcelona will find it impossible to replace Lionel Messi, according to club president Josep Maria Bartomeu, who added Pep Guardiola would always be welcome back at Camp Nou.

Messi followed up winning a record sixth Ballon d Or by recording his 35th LaLiga hat-trick in Barca s 5-2 win over Real Mallorca on Saturday.

Despite spending big on Antoine Griezmann and Frenkie de Jong in the most recent transfer window, Barca are still heavily reliant on the 32-year-old, who has scored 14 goals from 15 appearances in all competitions this term.

Bartomeu has acknowledged Barca will find it extremely difficult to replace Messi whenever the forward calls time on his stay at the club, but outlined their intention to continue developing young talent from the famed La Masi…

Arsenal 2-0 Manchester City: Aubameyang fires Gunners through to FA Cup final

Mikel Arteta overcame his former boss Pep Guardiola as a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang double saw Arsenal reach the FA Cup final with a 2-0 win over Manchester City.

Arteta left his role as assistant at City last December to take charge at Emirates Stadium, and while it has been far from straightforward for the Spaniard since, he could be on course to finish a topsy-turvy campaign with silverware.

Aubameyang was the hero as he struck twice at an eerily empty Wembley, sending his side through to face Chelsea or Manchester United on August 1.

City huffed and puffed throughout but were unable to blow Arsenal s well-constructed house down, suffering their first defeat at the national stadium since going out to the Gunners at the same stage of the competi…

Guardiola dismisses speculation of Bayern Munich return

Pep Guardiola has no immediate plans to swap Manchester City for a return to his former club Bayern Munich.

Bayern are on the search for a new coach after sacking Niko Kovac earlier in November.

Hans-Dieter Flick is currently interim coach, while Mauricio Pochettino who was sacked by Tottenham on Tuesday has been linked with a switch to the Allianz Arena.

The Bundesliga champions are also rumoured to be interested in moving for City boss Guardiola, who spent three seasons at Bayern between 2013 and 2016 before taking over at City.

However, Guardiola has insisted Bayern are aware he is a person who respects his contracts, adding he wishes to stay at City as long as the club want him to remain.

When these things appear, is it the media or the c…
